The picture of a portable classroom in Wednesday’s Sun caught my attention because it was overcrowded with too much baggage on the floor, too many students and no windows. This looks like a fire trap.
The Clark County School District should be ashamed to have a portable photographed and published in the newspaper showing students and their teacher treated like cattle.
If they had to evacuate, how many would trip over the clutter on the floor? There is absolutely no storage space for equipment and backpacks.
And there are more than a thousand of these portables across the valley at all grade levels. If CCSD cannot maintain school buildings, how can they maintain the additional portables?
