Wranglers surrender 7 unanswered goals, blasted by Alaska

The Las Vegas Wranglers surrendered seven unanswered goals today to close the game against the visiting Alaska Aces in a 7-2 defeat.

The Wranglers (2-2) took a quick 2-0 lead seven minutes into the first period on goals from Chris Francis and Eddie DelGrosso.

But Alaska dominated the remainder of the game, starting with two goals to close the first in tying the score at two. In the second period, Alaska scored more goals (three) than the Wranglers had shots on goal (two).

Alaska out-shot Las Vegas 46-13, including 17-2 in the second period and 15-3 in the third.

Alaska’s Tim Coffman had two goals and two assists, the Aces’ Tommy Mele had a goal and two assists and James Martin had two assists.

The teams play again at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Orleans Arena.
