Bus stop shooting

Two people were shot Monday night at a bus stop after an altercation between a group of people.

Metro Police responded to the shooting about 11:15 p.m. at a bus stop in the 3500 block of Maryland Parkway, near Desert Inn Road. Multiple shots were fired after a group of people got into an argument at the bus stop, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

A woman and a man were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with gunshot wounds, Meltzer said. One victim is in critical condition and the other is in stable condition. Police do not know if the victims were involved in the altercation or had been bystanders waiting for a bus, Meltzer said.

Metro's Gang Unit is investigating the shooting.

Metro urges anyone with information regarding the shooting to call police at 311, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
