A man is accused of killing his girlfriend by repeatedly beating her in the head with a glass beer mug after an argument, according to a Metro Police arrest report.

Dana Conley Baker, 62, was arrested Saturday on a count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon in connection with the death of Jennifer Evanson, police said.

Metro Police discovered Evanson, 56, dead on Friday in her mobile home at 3440 N. Las Vegas Boulevard, space 19. The previous night, she and Baker had been heard arguing in the home, the report said.

Baker told police he pulled Evanson out of bed by her hair, causing her to hit her head on the ground and start bleeding, the report said.

While on the floor, she continued to say things that angered him, so he grabbed a beer mug and began hitting her over the head, the report said. He told police he hit her seven or eight times, the report said.

Baker left Evanson on the floor for two hours, until she asked him to call 911, the report said. He called for help and left the home, police said.

He told police he didn’t intend to kill Evanson, only scare her, the report said.
