Metro releases video of robbery, attempted sexual assault

Metro Police have released surveillance camera footage of a robbery and attempted sexual assault in hopes of locating the suspect.

The incident happened about 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of South Rancho Drive, near Charleston Boulevard.

The suspect entered a business, stepped behind the counter and threatened the victim with a knife, police said.

The man demanded money and then forced the woman into a hallway, where he attempted to sexually assault her, police said.

The video captured the beginning of the crime, until the suspect forced the woman out of the camera’s view.

Authorities described the suspect as in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 or 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
