letter to the editor:

A battle that’s been waged for decades

The Affordable Care Act signed up 7.1 million enrollees for health insurance before the March 31 deadline, as was stated by President Barack Obama on April 1, but that hasn’t stopped the Republicans from trying to repeal the ACA. It turns out their worst nightmare is becoming a reality — Obamacare works.

The GOP will never be in support of the Affordable Care Act, no matter how popular it becomes. Social Security was signed into law in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democrat — and the Republicans have been trying to dismantle it ever since.

Some things will never change.
