51s’ bats silenced in loss at Fresno

The Las Vegas 51s scored in the first inning today at the Fresno Grizzlies in their first road game of the season, but couldn't muster any offense the rest of the game in a 5-1 defeat.

Matt den Dekker scored on a run-scoring single from Kirk Nieuwenhuis for a quick one-run lead in the opening frame. However, the 51s were limited to just two hits after the first. None were extra base hits.

Fresno scored four runs in the sixth inning to win the game, including a two-run single from Gary Brown.

The series continues Saturday in Fresno.
