Bundy’s win sends the wrong message

It is time for Nevada to man up and uphold the laws of the land. Since when did America start negotiating with terrorists? Cliven Bundy has blatantly broken the law and, even in the face of compromise, could not show humility or respect.

This is not about rights to the land; this is about Bundy bending America to his will.

He was reckless and endangered the lives of everyone there. He says this is a state issue; well, I agree. Nevada is in the spotlight now. Gov. Brian Sandoval and Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie are on trial. Will they uphold the law or cave to a law breaker?

Allowing lawless men to back down the government at gunpoint is opening Pandora’s box for every other radical to do the same. If we do not uphold and protect our laws and mete justice equally, what are we? We are certainly not a civilized society governed by reason.

Allowing Bundy’s actions to stand is an offense to all Americans and to American values. The Constitution states, “We the People,” not “We the Bundys.”
