letter to the editor:

President wrong on GOP and voting

In a speech April 11, President Barack Obama spent a good part of the time chastising Republicans for limiting voting access to millions of blacks and minorities.

In my opinion, Obama is one of the greatest “spinmeisters” of our time. How come? Where is the relevancy to voting when he says, “About 60 percent of Americans don’t have a passport.

“Just because you can’t have the money to travel abroad doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to vote here at home.”

In fact, most states will provide, without charge, the proper identification to vote.

Obama’s attempt to demean the Republicans for limiting qualified individuals’ right to vote is unfounded, and he should be taken to task.

Remember this in November, as most congressional Democrats back him no matter what he says or does.
