3 hurt in crash
A driver slammed into a signal control box and light pole this morning, showering a 53-year-old woman who was waiting to cross the street with debris and fluid from the crashed 2007 Chevrolet Impala, Metro Police said.
The crash, which happened just before 7 a.m. at Maryland Parkway near Dumont Boulevard, left driver Bruno Leon, 28, in critical condition and passenger Giovanni Dare, 24, in serious condition, according to a Metro press release.
The pedestrian, Angela York, suffered minor injuries, Metro said.
All three were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
Metro is investigating the crash.
