I’m writing to encourage Congress to vote to increase the minimum wage to $10.30 an hour.
The benefits to this are innumerable; a majority of corporations that pay a low wage are huge conglomerates that can afford to pay their workers more.
Increasing the minimum wage would not be detrimental to the economy, as some politicians have suggested, but rather would contribute to a much healthier economy made up of citizens who rely less on government support and can actually afford to provide for their families.
Please consider this, as the right to provide for one’s family is an important American value that everyone should have the opportunity to do.
