A man suspected in a string of burglaries in Henderson and Las Vegas is no longer circling neighborhoods in his red Ford F-150 pickup truck, authorities said.

In a joint effort of Henderson and Metro Police, officers arrested Michael Hoffman, 36, on March 25, officials announced today.

Police connected Hoffman to the home burglaries through DNA evidence and reports of his distinctive red F-150 pickup in the areas of the burglaries, Henderson Police spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

Hoffman is suspected in five smash-and-grab burglaries in Henderson’s Anthem neighborhood, where he would allegedly break into a home through the back and grab anything he could find in about 30 seconds, Richards said. He targeted cash and jewelry, she said.

Police said Hoffman is also suspected in multiple Las Vegas home burglaries, though no specific number was released.

Hoffman was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on four counts of burglary, four counts of grand larceny, three counts of possession of a gun by a prohibited person and one count of home invasion.

Henderson Police said residents should keep money and easy-to-carry valuables hidden or locked away to keep them safe from burglars.
