Forecast calls for high winds, prompts dust advisory

Blustery conditions are expected to return to the Las Vegas Valley on Friday, creating the potential for high levels of dust in the air.

Wind gusts are expected to reach between 40 and 50 mph, with the potential to reach 60 mph on Mount Charleston, National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Gorelow said. The Clark County Department of Air Quality has issued a dust advisory for Friday.

County officials advised operators of construction sites to take precautions to prevent blowing dust. At this time, unhealthy levels of dust are not occurring.
