Updated Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 | 1:13 p.m.

A rollover crash Sunday morning in which one driver is suspected of driving under the influence left one person in critical condition, Metro Police said.

At 5:30 a.m., a Subaru Impreza traveling southbound in the middle lane of Jones Boulevard hit a Chevrolet Venture in front of it, causing it to roll over at the intersection of Hacienda Avenue, according to a Metro Police report.

Witnesses and evidence at the scene revealed that the Subaru failed to slow down before it hit the Chevrolet.

The impact caused the Chevrolet to run into the center median, which caused it to roll over onto its roof before coming to a stop in the northbound lanes of South Jones Boulevard, the report said.

The Subaru came to a stop south of the intersection at South Jones Boulevard, the report said.

Both drivers were taken to University Medical Center. The driver of the Chevrolet is listed in critical condition, and the driver of the Subaru awaits prosecution under suspicions of driving impaired.

The crash remains under investigation.
