A man was sent to the hospital in critical condition Wednesday morning after his scooter collided with a car, Metro Police said.
The accident occurred at 11:28 a.m. in the intersection of Sirius Avenue and Arville Street, near Desert Inn Road and Valley View Boulevard, police said.
According to witness statements and evidence at the scene, a 2014 Icebear scooter was traveling northbound in the right lane of Arville, approaching Sirius.
The driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop at a stop sign and crossed the scooter's path, causing the rider to hit the right side of the car, police said.
The rider of the scooter was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries.
The driver of the Jeep stayed at the scene and is not suspected of driving under the influence, police said.
The accident is still under investigation.
