The body of a 79-year-old Riverside, Calif., man was recovered Sunday from Lake Mohave after he began to struggle and disappeared under the water, according to the National Park Service.
The Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call about 2:30 p.m. of the man in distress. Witnesses reported he was not wearing a life jacket.
National Park Service park rangers, Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens and Bullhead City Fire Department divers responded to the scene and recovered the victim near Paiute Cove, officials said.
The Clark County corner will confirm the victim’s identity and determine his cause of death, officials said.
The incident is under investigation.
