The UNLV football team will play at Ohio State during the 2017 season, the schools announced today.
The Rebels filled a void in the Ohio State schedule after North Carolina this week backed out of a two-game agreement. Oregon State is the 2018 replacement for the Ohio State schedule.
The Rebels will play Sept. 23, 2017, in Columbus, earning the largest payout in program history with a $1.3 million guarantee. Next season, UNLV plays at Michigan for a $1 million guarantee.
“We are looking at signing one guarantee game every couple of seasons and Ohio State is a great fit for 2017,” UNLV Director of Athletics Tina Kunzer-Murphy said in a statement. “It will be an exciting trip for our team and fans for the Rebels to play at the famed Horseshoe.”
Also today, UNLV announced a home-and-home series with Arkansas State. UNLV will host Arkansas State Sept. 2, 2017, and play in Jonesboro on Sept. 1, 2018.
