A motorcyclist was killed this morning after he was thrown off his bike and hit by a 18-wheel truck on Interstate 15, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported.
The 31-year-old motorcyclist was riding a Honda sport bike north near Sahara Avenue with another motorcyclist at 1:21 a.m. when the other rider lost control and hit the Honda, causing it to go out of control, troopers said.
The Honda rider hit the center median wall and was ejected, officials said. He landed in the road and was hit by the truck, officials said.
He was pronounced dead on the scene, Trooper Loy Hixson said.
The other biker left the scene and is being sought by the Highway Patrol.
All but one of the northbound lanes in the area were closed until 5:45 a.m.
