A 25-year-old man died after a shooting in North Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, according to North Las Vegas Police.
Preliminary evidence suggests there was a mutual exchange of gunfire between the man and a 22-year-old male outside a residence in the 5400 block of Jose Ernesto Street about 3:30 p.m., officer Aaron Patty said. Patty added that it appears the men knew each other.
The 25-year-old was transported to UMC Trauma, where he was pronounced dead.
The 22-year-old is in custody after it appears he fled the scene and then returned, Patty said.
The 5400 block of Jose Ernesto Street and the 600 block of Carlos Julio Avenue were closed while police investigated the incident.
