51s finish sweep of Round Rock for 7th straight win

The Las Vegas 51s are peaking at the right time of the season.

Kevin Plawecki hit two home runs today to help the 51s beat visiting Round Rock 8-3 in the final regular season home game of 2014 at Cashman Field.

Las Vegas scored five times in the second inning to take the lead, including a two-run home run from Plawecki in winning for a season-high seventh straight game.

Plawecki finished 4 for 4 and added a solo home run in the fifth inning. Matt Reynolds contributed three RBIs for Las Vegas and Daniel Muno scored two runs.

The 51s play four games starting Thursday on the road in Albuquerque to close the regular season. On Sept. 3 and 4, they’ll host playoff games against either Reno or Sacramento.
