Boy hit by car in northeast valley neighborhood

A boy was struck by a vehicle this afternoon while running across the street in the northeast valley, Metro Police said.

The vehicle was traveling at a low speed about 5:20 p.m. on the 4700 block of Pinon Pointe Road, near Nellis Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard North, when it hit the 4-year-old, who was sent to Sunrise Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.

The collision was accidental, and the driver stayed on the scene, Yatomi said.
