Wage protest briefly closes McDonald’s drive-thru

Fast-food workers protesting for higher wages have briefly shut down a McDonald's drive-thru in Las Vegas.

KSNV-TV reports about 70 workers held signs and chanted, "Low pay is not OK" and "We will win" at the restaurant near Eastern Avenue and Flamingo Road on Thursday morning.

The nonprofit group ProgressNow Nevada says in a statement that fast-food workers in more than 100 cities walked off the job in a protest seeking wages of at least $15 an hour and the ability to unionize.

The station reports another protest is planned for Thursday afternoon at a McDonald's restaurant near West Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards.
