Police seek suspect in casino robbery attempt near Strip

Police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob a casino near the Las Vegas Strip with a handgun last month.

The suspect pulled out the gun on a cashier and demanded money at the property near Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard on Nov. 26, Sgt. Steve Junge said.

The employee hit the robbery alarm, and the man did not escape with any cash, Junge said.

Metro declined to disclose the name of the casino.

A silver Mercedes was seen leaving the scene after the early-morning incident, Junge said.

The suspect is believed to be a black man 35 to 40 years old, weighing about 200 pounds, police said in a news release.

He is about 6 feet 4 inches tall and has a light complexion and goatee, police said.
