Updated Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 | 6:30 p.m.

A woman killed Thursday night after the car she was riding in crashed into a block wall has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 19-year-old Tonnisha Thomas.

Thomas, a Las Vegas resident, died of blunt force injury to the head after the accident on westbound Vegas Valley Drive near Tahoe Drive, the Coroner's Office said.

A Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Dario Stevenson, 28, of Las Vegas, went out of control and crossed the center turn lane about 10:45 p.m., police said. It hit a construction trailer along the eastbound lanes and ran into the block wall, police said.

Thomas, a passenger, was declared dead at the scene. Stevenson suffered minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation.
