What modern-day invention can you not live without?

Steam shower to get me going in the a.m.

If you could meet anyone — living or dead — who would it be and what’s the first question you would ask them?

Muhammad Ali. How did you feel upon throwing your gold medal into the river?

Name your favorite television series and why?

"Ray Donovan." Absurd and dysfunctional, yet there seems to be truth in the storylines.

What moral values are essential for a successful career?

Honesty and integrity.

How do you define happiness?

Balance in family and work. Also, traveling and exploring new places.

How do you defuse stress or tension?

Getting in my car, putting the top down and driving out into the high desert.

What is your favorite pick-up line?

I’m married. Have no need for pick-up lines.

Any guilty pleasure(s)?

Too many tall double shot soy cappuccinos.

What is your most embarrassing public moment?

Speaking to colleagues at CIA. Lost my thoughts. Major difficulty getting back on track.

What words best describe the city you live in?

Go go go! A very upbeat city that seldom pauses.

What is the most difficult task you’ve accomplished this year?

Working through a full knee replacement.

What is the most important topic for the Nevada Legislature to address during the 2015 session?

The need to increase education standards in Nevada for the next generation.

Any regrets this past year?

Not spending enough quality time with my son, Cole.

What is your top priority moving into 2015?

Balance of work and play with my wife, as we work very closely together.
