Two Las Vegas women were killed and five other people were injured in a car crash late Christmas Eve in the northwest valley, according to a Metro Police press release.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the women killed in the accident as 81-year-old Etherine Noble and 63-year-old Essie Mae Hale.

Metro Police received reports of a crash at the intersection of West Cheyenne Avenue and North Hualapai Way about 11:40 p.m.

The driver of a 2002 BMW 300i headed west on Cheyenne Avenue at high speeds ran a red light, hitting a 2011 GMC Terrain turning left from southbound Hualapai Way to eastbound Cheyenne, according to the release.

Police believe the BMW driver was under the influence of alcohol. The three men in the BMW, between the ages of 25 and 26, all residents of Las Vegas, were transported to University Medical Center's Trauma Center with serious injuries.

The crash caused the GMC to roll over, and two female passengers from Las Vegas, ages 63 and 81, were pronounced dead on scene, police said. However, the GMC driver, a 42-year-old female, and the passenger, a one-year-old baby boy, both from Ellenwood, Georgia, both survived. The GMC driver is reported to have serious injuries, while the baby's injuries are considered minor.

These were the 90th and 91st traffic-related deaths reported in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
