letter to the editor:

Train idea is nothing new

I moved to Las Vegas on Sept. 1, 1969.

Shortly after our arrival here, there was much discussion concerning building a railroad from Las Vegas to Victorville or Palmdale.

Fast forward to 2014, 45 years later, and we are still talking about a fast train from Las Vegas to Victorville and Palmdale.

I appeal to all of our elected officials:

1. Find a way to finance the building of a train track from Las Vegas to Victorville or Palmdale. I’m sure this service would fill a very important need for Nevada and California.

2. Increase our exports by building several new factories in Las Vegas. This increases our employment.

3. Lastly, if it takes 45 years and our elected officials still haven’t built a train, maybe it’s time to elect new officials.
