U.S. government lets down the poor

While Congress and the president wage war on the poor, families devastated by the recent cuts in food programs learn to make do with less and less.

It’s more important than ever to donate to places such as the Salvation Army that help those in need. Clothes, food, shoes, cleaning supplies, personal hygiene products and DVDs are all welcome and help so much.

We must take charge of those families in crisis who have been let down by their government.
