Updated Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 | 9:04 a.m.

The man killed in a triple shooting on Sunday was identified as 42-year-old John Kraai, of Nevada, according to Clark County Coroner’s Office officials.

The deadly shooting happened about 5:50 p.m. in the 1900 block of Western Avenue, on the east side of Interstate 15 and just north of Sahara Avenue.

Responding officers found Kraai unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso. He died after being transported to University Medical Center, police said. Two other gunshot victims were treated at the hospital.

It appears the three victims were involved in a verbal altercation inside a business when they were shot, police said.

Homicide Lt. Ray Steiber declined to comment on whether detectives have identified a suspect, citing the ongoing investigation to determine what transpired.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-352. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.

The case marks the 11th homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
