Woman jumps from car

A teen jumped out of a moving car on Interstate 15 today during an argument with her mother, authorities said.

The girl, 17, opened the passenger door of her mother’s Honda Civic about 1:15 p.m. as they traveled on I-15 North near Charleston Boulevard, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson said.

The teen was taken to University Medical Center, where she was being treated for injuries to her arms, legs and head, he said. She was in stable condition.

Officials didn’t know how fast the car was going or what the mother and daughter were arguing about.

Several lanes of traffic on I-15 were shut down for about an hour, causing backups as far as Sahara Avenue.
