Showgirls are like Vegas royalty

I was recently touring the Strip near the M&M Store.

Outside were two women wearing body mesh, thongs, pasties, and a showgirl headdress. I thought, “Yawn. Another pair of costumed panhandlers,” with the added humiliation of being naked-ish.

Then one of the women bowed down, smiled sincerely and gave a wave to a little girl walking by. And I realized how wrong I was. To this little girl, this woman was the “princess” and I was taken aback at this woman to realize that this showgirl character was not who she is, but instead, it is merely what she does.

For all the gawking, the snide remarks, and the rude photo ops she may brave, this is a kind, sincere, and astute woman of substance. She truly is every bit the “princess.”
