A motorcyclist died early Friday morning after hitting a sign while exiting Interstate 15, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The 28-year-old male motorcyclist traveling south on I-15 was exiting at Charleston Boulevard about 3:10 a.m. when he hit the freeway sign and was ejected from his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, Trooper Jeremie Elliott said.
The man was transported to University Medical Center, about a half mile away, but was pronounced dead en route, Elliott said.
Troopers closed the Charleston Boulevard exit ramp from I-15 after the crash, causing traffic delays until about 7:45 a.m.
The ramp is now open.
The accident is still under investigation, and the cause has yet to be determined.
