Two Albertsons grocery stores in southern Nevada are set to shut their doors next month.
Company officials say a store at West Horizon Ridge Parkway and Eastern Avenue in Henderson and a store at South Maryland Parkway at Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas will close on or around Feb. 20.
A U.S. Post Office outlet inside the Henderson store also will close.
Albertsons' southwest regional spokesman Paul Bancroft-Turner says the two stores had been underperforming for quite some time before the company decided to shut them.
Bancroft-Turner says the chain will have 34 stores in southern Nevada after the closures.
He says Albertsons hopes to transfer all of the 140 employees at the two stores to jobs at other locations. The company will attempt to sublease the buildings to other businesses.
