letter to the editor:

Violent crimes are too common here

The recent fatal shooting of a driver near Tropicana Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard in our city, possibly related to road rage, is so uncalled for. Two young kids become fatherless. Why? Over a traffic incident.

I watch the television show “Cops,” which often features Metro Police, and everybody that they stop either has drugs or a firearm in their vehicle.

I sure hope these are isolated incidents to make the show more appealing, but maybe not.

It seems like it’s gotten out of hand in our city: shootings, burglaries and domestic violence cases.

I’m a longtime resident here, and I hate to see these crimes becoming daily news.
