CARSON CITY — Sharron Angle, a conservative former assemblywoman and failed U.S. Senate candidate has filed a proposed constitutional amendment to require photo identification to vote.
The so-called Voter ID Initiative was filed Wednesday with the secretary of state's office. It would require photo identification to be eligible to vote.
Angle won a crowded Republican primary field in 2010 but lost to U.S. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid by 41,000 votes.
After her defeat she said she was working on a documentary to expose alleged voter fraud.
Angle filed another initiative earlier this month seeking to outlaw health insurance exchanges in Nevada, a move directed at overturning the federal health care reform law.
To qualify for the ballot, initiative backers need more than 101,000 signatures by June 17.
