Police investigating report of man trying to lure NLV middle-schooler into car

North Las Vegas Police are investigating a report of a possible abduction attempt on a middle school student this week, according to the Clark County School District.

A female student from Clifford Findlay Middle School was walking home alone Wednesday when an adult male driving a white van approached her near the Smith’s grocery store on Camino El Norte near West Ann Road.

The man attempted to get the student into his car by asking questions about where she lives. The student ran home, and the man, who was driving in the opposite direction, did a U-turn and followed her, according to a letter sent Thursday from the Clark County School District to parents of Findlay students.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Las Vegas Police at 633-9111, Metro Police’s crimes against youth and family bureau at 828-3421 or Clark County School District Police at 799-5411.
