Wilmer Flores connected on two home runs today for the Las Vegas 51s at Albuquerque, including a solo shot in the 10th inning to give Las Vegas a one-run lead.
However, the 51s couldn’t hold on in the bottom of the 10th, surrendering a pair of two-out runs in a 7-6 defeat.
Albuquerque scored both its runs on bases loaded walks, with the 51s’ Buddy Caryle walking Alex Liddi to force home Griff Erickson with the winning run.
Flores, who went 2 for 5 with four RBIs, didn’t have Las Vegas’ most-significant home run. Rather, Daniel Muno belted a two-run home run in the ninth inning to tie the game at five and force extra innings.
The series continues tomorrow in Albuquerque.
