Updated Monday, July 7, 2014 | 4:01 p.m.

Thousands of NV Energy customers were briefly left without power Monday afternoon in two separate outages.

About 1,200 customers lost power after a construction crane collided with a power line near Cheyenne Avenue and Simmons Street, according to NV Energy.

Most of the power had been restored as of 3 p.m. Crews are still working to restore power to the approximately 115 customers.

And 8,000 residents were left without power for half an hour this afternoon after an outage affected the area near Grand Teton and Buffalo drives, according to NV Energy.

The outage occurred around 12:43 p.m., and power was restored around 1:18 p.m.

The cause is still under investigation.
