Praying for a day without killing

Villagers were recently killed in Nigeria. Soldiers were killed in Somalia. Ukrainians die fighting in Ukraine. Syrian rebel and government forces fight and die. Terrorists continue to attack Israel. In Iraq, Sunnis, Shiites, and Kurds fight ISIS. The Pakistani Army is fighting the Taliban. United States forces engage the Taliban in Afghanistan. Iran continues to export terrorism to its neighbors.

Innocent men, women and children are dying. Their deaths demonstrate that there are some who will kill for religion, politics, power, or just greed. This is a sad commentary on mankind and civilization as we know it. Mankind must do better and learn to live peacefully. We must stop killing over religion, politics, power, or greed!

I pray that people all over the world forgo taking a single life for just one day. This would be a tremendous leap for mankind. That one day would be a special day, and perhaps a beginning for all mankind.
