Truck hits girl
A 7-year-old girl was in critical condition Friday night after being hit by a pickup truck as she and her uncle crossed a street in North Las Vegas, police said.
The man and the girl were crossing North Commerce Street at West Lone Mountain Road about 9 p.m. when a truck going north on Commerce struck the girl, said North Las Vegas Police Officer Aaron Patty.
The girl was taken to UMC Trauma, Patty said. The uncle, 43, was not injured.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene, and investigators were working to determine the circumstances of the crash, Patty said.
Commerce Street remained closed more than an hour after the crash.
