Coroner IDs drivers killed in wrong-way crash on US 95

Two men killed in a head-on, wrong-way crash on U.S. 95 on Sunday morning have been identified as Gil Rodriguez Gil, 29, of Henderson and Jacob Ryan Baker, 28, of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

The crash was reported about 7:15 a.m. when a silver Acura driven by Gil and traveling south in a northbound lane near Corn Creek Road slammed into the Subaru Baker was driving, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliot said.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene; there were no passengers.

The highway was closed and traffic was diverted to State Route 157, around Mount Charleston.
