Las Vegas Monorail 10th anniversary

Las Vegas Monorail 10th anniversary

When you’re not in the mood for traffic or the sometimes-daunting task of traversing long stretches of the Las Vegas Boulevard on foot, the Las Vegas Monorail has you covered.

For 10 years, in fact, that monorail-that-could has been shuttling passengers from its East Sahara terminal (near Westgate Las Vegas and the future site of SLS Las Vegas) to the MGM Grand stop on the opposite end of the Strip. To celebrate the anniversary, Las Vegas Monorail offers $10 24-hour unlimited ride passes during July and, on July 26, celebrates with giveaways and activities at each station. Among those, you can quench your thirst at a mini Margaritaville bar at the Flamingo stop, sample Sprinkles cupcakes at the Linq stop, start a scavenger hunt at MGM Grand or show off your karaoke chops at the Bally’s stop.

The main attraction, though, is at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where you’ll get to take pics with Elvis and showgirls, enter contests and have some birthday cake to top it all off. Not too shabby for a way to get from point A to point B. When was the last time your car treated you to some cake?

Multiple locations, $5 per ride, with discounts for multiride and all-day passes, service available 7 a.m.-midnight Mon., 7 a.m.-2 a.m. Tues.-Thurs., 7 a.m.-3 a.m. Fri.-Sun. 702.699.8200
