2 Northern Nevada hunters among NDOW dream tag winners

Hunters from New Mexico, North Dakota and California have joined a pair of locals as winners of five premier hunting tags in the Nevada Dream Tag raffle.

Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman Chris Healy says this year's raffle brought in more than $300,000 for wildlife habitat rehabilitation projects.

John Koster of Gardnerville won the tag for antelope, while David Cochran of Genoa won the tag for desert bighorn sheep.

The tag to hunt California bighorn sheep went to Claude Sanchez of Albuquerque.

Myron Jahner of Baldwin, N.D., won the elk tag while Ronald Lara of Chico, Calif., picked up the one for mule deer.

Winners of the annual fundraising raffle were drawn on July 1 from the pool of those who paid $5 per chance at a tag.
