Metro Police are investigating the slaying of a man who was found suffering from a gunshot wound Saturday night on the corner of Walnut Road and Savory Court, near East Alexander and North Pecos roads.
Officers responded at 8:24 p.m. and found the man on the ground. He had arrived in the area with the intention of fighting, police said.
He was met by three men and got into in a physical altercation with one of them, police said. The two separated, and the suspect pulled a handgun and fired at the victim, police said.
The suspect and the two other men fled the scene in a green, four door sedan, police said.
The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Metro Police have not identified any suspects.
This is the 75th homicide investigated by the Metro Police this year.
