letter to the editor:

Perry makes right move along border

The characteristic that has been absent at Texas’ border with Mexico is a protected zone with a blockage that cannot be penetrated by illegal migrations from the south.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry means to change the message that the U.S. border has a “Welcome to America” sign for people illegally entering the U.S. from Mexico.

Perry plans to position the Texas National Guard along the border to assist in enforcement actions to protect Texas citizens and their property from the overwhelming influx of people living in the U.S. illegally.

After approvingly watching as President Barack Obama failed to seal the border and enforce federal immigration laws, Democrats seeking amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants entering from Mexico are hurling their vitriol and criticism at Perry for transferring guard troops to the border.

The destructive effects of Obama and other amnesty promoters result from obliterating any semblance of border boundaries and overwhelming the border area with immigrants who must then be cared for by our taxpayers.

Contrary to the amnesty seekers’ claims, this uninterrupted influx is an imminent threat to the economy, national security, personal safety and property along these unprotected migration border zones.
