letter to the editor:

Find a way to keep tapestry here

Wake up, Las Vegas. Do not let the Las Vegas Tapestry, an iconic work of art, leave this city because it was unsold, yet appreciated by many as it sat on display for all to see at the Trifecta Gallery. It is moving to serve as the centerpiece for the ARTrageous event Saturday.

This exquisite piece of work so diligently made by artist Sola Fiedler using recycled yarns and metallic threads, which took her more than 8,000 hours to complete, should be hung with pride in places like the Smith Center for the Performing Arts or McCarran International Airport; maybe one of the big resorts would be interested.

There is ample money in this town to cover the cost of $225,000, so let’s not let this one get away.
