Pedestrian hit

An 11-year-old boy was standing on a sidewalk Monday night when a car veered off the road and hit him before driving away, according to Metro Police officials.

Police responded about 9:20 p.m. to reports of a Honda Civic hitting the boy on the corner of Bonanza Road and Eastern Avenue. He was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

A Metro patrol officer found the car in a nearby neighborhood, but the driver was not there and has not been located, police said.

Police ask anyone with information to call Metro at 702-828-3595 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.
