The Las Vegas 51s scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning today to rally for a 5-4 victory against visiting Nashville.
Josh Satin raced home with the winning run when Nashville pitcher Brent Leach botched a pickoff throw, helping the 51s sweep the four-game series with Nashville at Cashman Field.
Trailing 4-1 entering its final at-bats, Travis d’Arnaud singled and Andrew Brown doubled to open the inning. Daniel Muno recorded an RBI single to trim the deficit to two runs, and Satin followed with a run-scoring double to make it 4-3. Later in the inning, Brandon Allen drew a bases-loaded walk to force in the tying run.
The top performer again for Las Vegas was d’Arnaud, who went 3 for 4 with a run scored. In 12 games since his demotion from the New York Mets to their Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas, d’Arnaud is batting .458 with six home runs and 15 RBIs.
The 51s start a series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday against the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
