Updated Saturday, June 21, 2014 | 12:10 p.m.

A woman who drifted into oncoming traffic while driving near Lake Las Vegas this morning died in a head-on collision, according to Henderson Police.

The crash happened about 6:20 a.m. on Lake Mead Parkway, east of Lake Las Vegas Parkway. The Henderson woman, identified Saturday as Linda Yettaw, 52, was driving a Toyota Camry west when the vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and hit a Toyota Prius, police said.

Both drivers were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Yettaw died about three hours later, police said.

The driver of the Prius, a 69-year-old Henderson woman, is expected to survive her injuries, police said. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Neither alcohol nor speed appeared to be a factor in the accident, but the police investigation is ongoing, authorities said.

The crash resulted in the fifth traffic-related death in Henderson this year.
