Woman killed in crash near Lake Las Vegas is identified

The woman killed Friday morning when her vehicle drifted into an oncoming car near Lake Las Vegas was identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office on Saturday as Henderson resident Linda Yettaw, 52.

Yettaw was driving a Toyota Camry westbound when her car changed lanes into eastbound oncoming traffic on Lake Mead Parkway and collided with a Prius, according to Henderson police. Both drivers were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Yettaw died three hours later from multiple injuries resulting from blunt force trauma.

The driver of the Prius, a 69-year-old Henderson woman, is expected to recover from her injuries, police said.

According to police, neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the accident, though an investigation is ongoing. The crash is the fifth traffic-related death in Henderson this year.
